What to expect during your session
Your session will start with a short intake interview so that we may discuss your medical history as well as your goals for the session. You will then be given privacy to undress to your comfort level and get on the massage table, under the top sheet and blanket. During your massage, only the areas being worked on will be undraped. I will check in with you during the session in regards to pressure and depth of touch. Your participation and communication is encouraged so that you can get the most out of your session. If at anytime during your session you feel uncomfortable or are experiencing pain, please let me know so that the proper adjustments can be made.
Confidentiality
Your privacy is very important to me. All records including verbal and written communication between therapist and client will remain confidential and protected. The only exceptions will be if you have given written consent for your records to be released or your records are subpoenaed in accordance with state and federal law.
Privacy and Draping
You will have complete privacy while you undress before your massage as well as while you dress after your massage. For your massage, you may undress completely or wear as much clothing as you feel comfortable with. During your massage, only the areas being worked on will be undraped.
Hygiene
Massage inherently takes palace in a close environment. Because of this, you can expect me to be clean and free of odor and strong cologne; please do the same for me. Fresh sheets will always be used for each session. Some of the oils and lotions that I use have a slight scent. If you have any sensitivity to scent or any allergies that I need to know about, please inform me in advance.
Cancellations & Lateness
If needed, I will be happy to change the time of your scheduled appointment. If you need to change an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged in full for that appointment. Reciprocally, if I must reschedule with less than 24 hours notice, your rescheduled session will be at no charge.
Inappropriate Behavior
Massage therapy is therapeutic in nature and in no way sexual. If a client makes any sexual advances or requests, the session will end immediately and full payment will be expected.
